About Our Company:
Every business has many sides - layers, levels, divisions, dimensions, multiple supply chain links. Solving It From All Sides proclaims that we understand the complexities and dynamics of our customers' business and we have the ability and desire to impact all of them.
Corporate Safety
At Smurfit-Stone, there is no greater priority than keeping our employees safe. We are proud to have led the industry in safety since 2001, and our performance continues to improve year after year. Our 2008 corporate safety goal was met by achieving a recordable case rate (RCR) of 0.94, making 2008 Smurfit-Stone's safest year yet.
Working together, we reduced our rate of injuries and illnesses in 2008 nearly 10.5 percent compared to 2007.
Our employees’ dedication to working safely has earned our facilities numerous recognitions throughout the pulp and paper industry and from various safety associations. And while we are proud of our performance numbers, we realize that safety is really about making sure that our employees return home safely at the end of the day.
